2016 Uvaggio Cinsaut Rosé

80% Cinsaut - Bechthold Vineyard
11% Vermentino - Gayla’s Vineyard
9% Grenache - Mettler Vineyard
100% Lodi AVA

From Provence down to Sicily, pink wines are an integral aspect of the Mediterranean lifestyle.  With this wine the Cinsaut vines (no, it is not Frappato) were harvested at the end of Aug, at optimal maturity - so it is balanced, expressive and flavorful.

Initially we blended-in Vermentino for a co-fermentation effect and then a week later, Grenache; prolonging the fermentation and adding complexity.

Once complete, it was racked and held in neutral barrels.  In late Jan it was lightly fined for stability, followed by another racking and then gently filtered prior to bottling.

Bottled in Feb 2017; 12.4% alcohol, pH 3.37 & TA 6.1 g/l
